A guide to moving blogs from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

WordPress.com is a free WordPress blogging solution and has basic features to help you manage your posts and comments very well. We can say that this is a pretty good choice if you want to have a relatively comprehensive blog to write articles. However, at the present time, access to wordpress.com blogs in Vietnam is sometimes quite difficult as network operators plan to block WordPress.com, and an important part is that if you use Using a free account, there are not too many benefits to having a blog full of important features, such as custom plugins and themes, these are two very important features in WordPress that have helped it become. It is one of the most popular blogging platforms in the world.

So if you want to use a full-featured WordPress blog, completely professional and no worries about blocking your site then you have to use WordPress Self-Hosted. First, in order to use WordPress Self-Hosted, you need a domain name and hosting that supports WordPress to be able to install it. You can buy domain name here and refer to the list of the best hosting support WordPress.
Once you have your domain name and hosting, you must have a WordPress blog pre-installed so that you can import the data from WordPress.com. Okay, now we're going to do it step by step.
Note: If you have purchased a domain on WordPress.com then see how to point domain names from WordPress.com on private hosting.

Step 1. Export the data from WordPress.com

You access the Dashboard of the blog to move on WordPress.com, find Tools ⇨ Export ⇨ select All Content ⇨ click Export Export File.

Select All Content if you want to move all posts, comments, pages.
Select Posts if you want to move only posts and comments.
Select Pages if you want to transfer only Pages.
Select Feedback if you want to transfer only your contact messages.
You will then receive a .xml file in which it will contain all the data at your wordpress.com blog.

Step 2. Transfer the data to the WordPress blog on the host

Once you have a WordPress installed on your host, go to http://example.com/wp-admin and look for Tools ⇨ Import ⇨ WordPress ⇨ Install Now ⇨ Select the XML file you just obtained through step 1 ⇨ click Upload file and import.

Next you need to choose the author for these new articles. If you use the image in the article then select Add and Download file attachments and click the Submit button.

To this step you need to wait a moment for it to import, as a leisurely cafe to sober because fast or slow depends on the number of articles that you want to import. Upon successful import it will have the following message message.

That's it, you go to the blog home page will see the article has just imported. Now you can freely install plugins and themes.

Transfer the domain at WordPress.com to another host

When you have used the upgrade package on WordPress.com to use your own domain name, if you want to migrate to WordPress Hosting and still want to use that domain, then you need to update the Name Server (DNS) for the domain on WordPress. rice
You access the Store ⇨ Domains on the Dashboard of WordPress.com
Here, you look down to see the "What would you like to do?" Box, you click it and select Make Changes to DNS. After selecting it, you will see another dialog box that includes the Customer Number and update the password. This is the password that you will log into the domain management page, completely unrelated to the account of WordPress so you can create another password to login a little bit more. You should also copy the Customer ID somewhere to a little more we will login with that ID.

Then you click the Manage Your Domains link to go to the domain management page. You log in using your Customer ID and password.

Note
After logging in, it will ask for your PIN, which you must call to authenticate the account holder to get the PIN. You just turn it off and visit this login page again it will not ask for a PIN. :brick:
After successful login you will see your domain displayed on the management page, select it and choose Set Nameserver.

Continue, select "I have specific nameservers for my domains" and delete the default DNS of WordPress.com and replace the DNS of the hosting you are using.
